Capitol Theatre

50 W 200 S., Salt Lake City, UT 84101; Tel. 801-355-2787 Opened in 1913, the Capitol Theatre is housed in a fully restored Beaux Arts building in downtown Salt Lake City and is home to the Utah Opera and Ballet West, as well as hosting Broadway productions.

Children's Theatre of Salt Lake

638 S State St., Salt Lake City, UT 84111; 801-532-6000 This is the Salt Lake City's children's theatre, with performance times for younger audiences and a theatre school for precocious thespians.

Hale Centre Theatre

3333 Decker Lake Dr., West Valley City, UT 84119; 801-984-9001 In West Valley City outside of Salt Lake, Hale Centre Theatre hosts a full season of musicals and comedies, including the West Side Story and Annie ilk.

Kingsbury Hall

Lab Theatre - Studio 115

240 S 1500 E., Room 206 Salt Lake City, UT 84112; 801-581-6448 The University of Utah's experimental student theatre produces student works in addition to modern works.

Off Broadway Theatre

272 S Main St., Salt Lake City, UT 84101; 801-355-4628 Off Broadway Theatre is the place for comedy in downtown Salt Lake City. The resident Laughing Stock Improv Comedy Troupe performs every Friday and Saturday nights and the OBT also hosts Broadway style comedies and parodies.

Plan-B Theatre Company

A daring alternative to the typically conservative Utah theatre scene, Plan-B produces thought-invoking and convention-bending performances on a tight budget, held at various Salt Lake theatres and site-specific locales.

Pioneer Theatre Company

StageRight Theatre

Utah Shakespearean Festival

351 West Center St., Cedar City, UT 84720; 435-586-7880 Attended by over 150,000 Bard-lovers annually, the Utah Shakespearean Festival received the 2000 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre. The Festival is located in Cedar City, a four hour drive from Salt Lake City and surrounded by Southern Utah's ruddy beauty.
