Capacity, Community, Collaboration

UAC's Community Partnerships Program (CPP) assists Utah's arts organizations to promote and expand arts and culture. CPP provides assistance with advocacy, fundraising, community collaboration, non-profit organizational development, and various forms of technical assistance.

Creative Communities Initiative Grants

The Utah Arts Council announces the Creative Communities Initiative, a grant to support the creation of innovative connections between culture, art, community building, civic engagement, community planning and use of public space for enhancement of economic opportunities and quality of life in Utah's communities.
Creative Communities Page

"The impacts of cultural participation and arts organizations on local economies, tourism, job creation, the size of the 'creative class,' and other areas, are increasingly well documented. Likewise, the role of artists and artistic practices in attracting real estate investment, stimulating innovation, improving education, and so on, are also becoming better understood." Tom Borrup

Handbooks

UAC's Community Partnerships staff has prepared handbooks on areas of interest to the nonprofit community: The Art of Forming a New Nonprofit, The Art of Board Development, and The Art of Volunteer Development. Order and download information is available on the Handbooks Page.

Training Programs

The Utah Arts Council offers a variety of Training Programs aimed at Community Development. These programs include "Art of the Nonprofit" training and the Change Leader program. To see what is available and for more information on requesting training for your organization, see the Training Programs Page.

Find a Local Arts Council

Many of Utah's communities boast their own arts council. The Community/State Partnership staff maintains an online Directory of Local Arts Councils in Utah.

Fundraising Resources

In today's economic climate, all nonprofit organizations are looking for funding alternatives. The Utah Arts Council's Fundraising Resources Page lists some alternatives for arts and culture groups.

Technical Assistance

The Utah Arts Council's staff also offers other Technical Assistance in various forms, which are outlined on the Technical Assistance Page.
