Spiral
Jetty
Robert Smithson's monumental earthwork Spiral Jetty
(1970) is located on the Great Salt Lake. The artist used
black basalt rocks and earth from the site to create a coil
1500 feet long and 15 feet wide that extends out counterclockwise
into the changing pink, red, blue, or cloudy white water.
Sanpete
County Driving Tour
Sanpete Valley is located at the geographic heart
of a region of the western United States long known by cultural
anthropologists and other scholars as Mormon Country. The
valley's pastoral landscape, well-preserved architecture,
historical sites, cultural celebrations and expressions of
Scandinavian heritage regularly bring visitors to the area.
Both tourists and armchair travelers to Sanpete will enjoy
experiencing Sanpete culture. more

Things
To Do (Travel Council)
Utahns, regardless of varied ethnic and religious backgrounds,
share a sense that Utah's past is an important part of the
state's future. From early settlement days, the cultural arts
have been an important component of cities and towns across
the state. Today, this tradition remains. Many communities
produce pageants, plays and other events that showcase Utah's
culture and heritage. Some of these productions have religious
or historical themes, some are satirical and poke fun at our
unique culture.
