School Grants

Which grant are you applying for?

You may only apply for one grant.*

*NOTE: Schools applying for a residency or arts education project may also have one TIP grant submitted by a classroom teacher. Schools not applying for a residency or project may have two classroom teachers apply for two separate TIP grants.

ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE GRANT:
  • For any school, school district (small), or nonprofit organization.
  • Requires a minimum of 40 hours contact time in which an artist from the AE Roster engages students in a particular art form.
  • Consists of at least one target group and several workshop groups, each with a maximum of 35 people.
  • Sponsor match varies.
ARTS EDUCATION PROJECT GRANT:
  • For any school, school district (small), or nonprofit organization implementing advanced and innovative Arts Education initiatives.
  • May include more than one artist and artistic discipline.
  • Promotes artistic excellence and focuses on art learning art making.
  • Serves the surrounding community, school community, and/or specific populations within a community (e.g. rural populations, inner city youth, reservation communities, correctional facilities, special education students, low income, etc.).
  • Maximum grant award is $10,000 with a 1:1 match.
TEACHER INITIATIED PROJECT GRANT:
  • Any teacher in any private, parochial, charter, or public school is eligible.
  • Promotes artistic excellence and focuses on art learning art making for the individual classroom teacher.
  • No cash match is required. Matches are provided through teacher time and commitment.
