The Utah State Legislature Capital Facilities and Administrative Services Appropriations Subcommittee reviews all capital projects for the State and approves or cuts public art funding for those projects. If you would like to contact the legislators on the committee to express your views on art in public places. The committee membership is listed on the Utah State Legislature web site. This web site also provides schedule and contact information for the committee.

Other Utah Public Art Opportunities
- The Salt Lake City Arts Council, Salt Lake Art Design Board and Utah Transit Authority announce a call for artist qualifications for the creation of public art for five TRAX stations to be built on the North Temple line of Salt Lake City. Two of the commissions are limited to Utah artists only (800 West Station and Winifred Station/1950 West), and require a conceptual proposal (request for proposal format). Three commissions are open to all artists residing in the United States and require qualifications (request for qualifications format). Information: http://slcgov.com/arts/

National & International Public Art Opportunities
- Palm Beach County's Art in Public Places Program is seeking artist(s) to assist in the design of site specific artwork for the new Belle Glade Branch Library. The selected artist(s) will collaborate with the project team to identify and design integrated, functional artistic experiences that immerse youth, families and caregivers in environments that promote learning and literacy.
Budget: $15,570 design budget ($103,800 total public art budget)
Deadline: November 23, 2009
- The Legacy Trail Public Art Consortium (LTPAC) is seeking Statements of Qualifications from artists, creative teams, art consultants and other professional consultants capable of providing a public art master plan for a new 9-mile bicycle and pedestrian trail located in Lexington, Kentucky. - Louisville Arena Authority call for qualifications from artists or artist teams to design, fabricate and install permanent artwork in the new Louisville Arena, currently being constructed in downtown Louisville and scheduled for completion in November 2010. Budget: $200,000 - $250,000 - Deadline: December 1, 2009
- The City of Kansas City, Missouri is requesting qualifications from artists or artist collaborations to develop innovative, original art for the Kansas City Police Facility on the southern corner of the property near the intersection of 95th St./East Bannister Road, Marion Park Dr., and I-435. - The Nebraska State Historical Society (NSHS) and the Nebraska Arts Council (NAC) seeks artwork for the NSHS Headquarters Building Renovation Project, at 1500 R Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. The artwork site will be the interior rotunda (main entrance.) Visit the Nebraska Arts Council website or email for project specifics and directions on how to apply.
