Utah Public Art Program Opportunities

- University of Utah - James L. Sorenson Molecular Biotechnology Building
Letters of interest and qualifications are requested from artists interested in creating art for the public places of the new James L. Sorenson Molecular Biotechnology and Neuroscience Research facility on the campus of the University of Utah.
This facility is designed to support collaborative Biomedical and Neuroscience Research.
It is anticipated that more than half of the total budget may be applied toward the commission of a major work befitting the significance of this important national research center. The remaining budget will be considered for art commissions throughout the facility.

The Utah State Legislature Capital Facilities and Administrative Services Appropriations
Subcommittee reviews all capital projects for the State and approves or cuts public art funding for
those projects. If you would like to contact the legislators on the committee to express your views

National & International Public Art Opportunities
- The City of Ventura, CA
Public Art Program is accepting proposals for artist-designed bicycle racks to be installed in high use locations throughout the City. The City of Ventura will be responsible for all installation. Proposals will be considered for reproduction in limited edition series and should include a separate budget for the fabrication of additional racks.

- The Denver Office of Cultural Affairs (DOCA) is seeking an artist, or artist team, for a site-specific public art commission for the Speer Boulevard Bridge. The project is seeking artists working in any medium, including sound, light, earthworks and interactive sculpture, for an original work of art in the area of the bridge and surrounding environment.

Public art call for qualifications for an artist or design team to design an entry feature for the Fire Training Academy, a 50-acre training campus, located at 2425 W. Lower Buckeye Road. Artists and design teams residing in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, or Utah are eligible to apply. Metalsmiths are encouraged to apply.
