  • Uintah Basin Applied Technology College and Utah State Univiersity
    Call for artist or artist teams letter of interest and qualifications for the creation of art for the new and the first permanent home for the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College. This first of many planned buildings on the new higher education campus will be shared with Utah State University and will house several academically oriented classrooms for them with distance learning capability.

    A major focus of this building is to meet the needs of the booming energy industry in the Vernal areal. Much of the funding for this building is coming from mineral lease funds generated from mineral extraction companies. UBATC offers many courses focused on the hand-on training needs for over 100 energy related companies. Uintah County is the leading natural gas producing counting in the State of Utah and is the second largest oil producing county in the state. Uintah County also has some of the largest deposits of oil shale and tar sands in the world.

The Utah State Legislature Capital Facilities and Administrative Services Appropriations
Subcommittee reviews all capital projects for the State and approves or cuts public art funding for
those projects. If you would like to contact those legislators on the committee to express your views

  • University of Florida, Performing Arts Complex
    Florida's Art in State Buildings Program at the University of Central
    Florida is issuing a Call to Artists for the new Performing Arts Complex. The Complex includes an exterior courtyard that will eventually be the east-end terminus of an adjacent sculpture garden area. The selection committee has identified the courtyard as an exceptional opportunity for the placement of sculpture, earthwork or a similar site-specific installation solution.   • 4Culture Artist Registry - Washington
    Public Art 4Culture is now accepting applications for the new volume of the Artist Registry which is organized into three categories: Parts, Sites and Plans. All are open to professional artists residing in the United States. Artists selected for inclusion in the Registry are pre-qualified for a variety of public and private art commissions with budgets that range from $10,000 to $1 million. One of the only web publications of such breadth in the field, the Registry is widely utilized by public agencies, design professionals, and private developers. This volume will be operational for three to five years.

  • Scottsdale, AZ + Event-Based Public Art Opportunity
    The Scottsdale Public Art Program seeks an artist to complete a time-based public artwork at the annual Scottsdale Arts Festival. The ideal candidate will create an artwork that is highly interactive and will be visually prominent in a festival setting. As a nationally known event, the arts festival occurs during the height of Scottsdale's tourist season and can draw up to 40,000 visitors.   • City of Union City, CA, Sports Center
    The City of Union City's Public Art Board invites a qualified artist or team of artists to submit proposals for the design, fabrication, and installation of a unique, site-specific work of art for the exterior front entrance of the new Sports Center (See attached photos). All practicing, professional visual artists working in a media suitable for a permanent, outdoor setting are invited to apply. The City would like to have the public art piece installed by the Fall of 2009. The theme of
    the art is open for interpretation. .

  • Ballpark Station and Ballpark Area - Northstar Commuter Rail - Minnesota Ballpark Authority - Hennepin County - City of Minneapolis
    The Project Partners are pleased to invite artists to apply for two public art projects for the new Minnesota Twins ballpark (Target Field) area. One project is located on the 5th Street side of the ballpark with a proposed budget of $200,000. The second project is part of the ballpark rail station and has a proposed budget of $150,000.   • City of Glendale Arizona Park and Ride - The City of Glendale announces a public art opportunity for a qualified artist or artist team to design, fabricate and install artwork for the first Park and Ride Lot in Glendale.     The award winning redevelopment of Denver's former Stapleton International Airport announces a public art opportunity for the Westerly Creek open space area. The site is a unique ecologically designed environment at Stapleton that serves the storm water management needs of the community. The design of Westerly Creek allows natural and human activities to converge providing habitat for plants and animals and passive recreational opportunities for people.   • Newburgh Arts and Culture Commission is seeking to commission artists for its first permanent artwork through its newly established Percent for Art Program. Artists are asked to submit ideas for the City of Newburgh Courthouse at the Broadway School. The artwork will take the form of ten (10) openings throughout the courthouse lobby.   • Hal Marshall Freedom Center, Charlotte, North Carolina
    The Arts and Science Council in Charlotte, North Carolina, on behalf of Mecklenburg County, invites artists/teams living anywhere in the United States to submit qualifications for public art op-portunities at the new Hal Marshall facility at Freedom Center, a partially occupied retail mall built in the early 1970s and being converted through adaptive reuse for County services.   • University of Florida, College of Dentistry, Naples Dental Clinic
    Florida's Art in State Buildings Program at the University of Florida announces a public art project at the University's College of Dentistry Clinic in Naples, Florida. In collaboration with other academic and community leaders, the University of Florida is launching a world-class program to improve access to dental services for at-risk children in Collier County, FL. The Naples Dental Clinic public art project (UF-303) is seeking artwork that relates to the design criteria of the new
    facility: health, education, caring, accessibility and the site as a dental home. The budget for this project is $20,000 and honoraria will be given to any selected finalists from this budget.     The Milwaukee County Percent for Art Program is issuing a Call to Artists for the Milwaukee County Lincoln Park Public Art Project. Visitors from all over Milwaukee County enjoy Lincoln Park for its various amenities such as the golf course, children's play areas, scenic picnic areas, and new aquatic center. The project allows for the implementation of public art. An artist(s) will be selected to design and implement public art enhancements to be incorporated in Lincoln

  • The Athens Area Arts Council of Athens, GA, in partnership with the Athens Transit System and the Unified Government of Athens Clarke County, announces its second Art Bus Shelter Design Competition. This year's theme, "ART ROCKS!" asks designers to pay artistic tribute to the musical talent of Athens. Eight bus shelters will be installed along two major arteries near downtown Athens,GA.     Winning designs $5,000 per shelter. Fabrication, materials and shipping budget limited to $9,160 per shelter - Deadline for submissions is December 12, 2008 (extended from November 30).
