The Brown/England Piano Duo offers an extensive range of two piano music varying from formal classical compositions to lighter, more familiar repertoire.  First prize gold medal winners of the New England International Ensemble Competition, this premier piano duo performed at Carnegie Hall on Memorial Day. Following a recent performance as soloists with the Salt Lake Symphony, Edward Reichel, Deseret Morning News critic said, "The two pianists exhibited wonderful artistry in their technical command of their instrument as well as in their exceptional musicality".  The Brown/England Duo performs a wide array of two piano music that is sure to please audiences of every background.

Concert pianist, recording artist, arranger, composer and master teacher, Lenora Ford Brown is an adjunct Professor of Music at the University of Utah.  Pianist and arranger, Gaye Harris England has performed extensively throughout the state as accompanist and soloist and ahs won several state and regional honors as a solo artist.  Together, the duo offers an exciting and interesting performance.

Outreach Options:

  • Master Classes on either solo or dup piano music, as well as quartet music.  For this program, two pianos, 4 or 8 hand music will be sent in advance for participants to learn.  At the class, they will receive valuable insight and instruction.
  • Question and Answer session on Careers in Music: A very valuable session for young people who are considering the possibility of majoring in music in college, with concrete detailed information about university curriculums and programs and ideas about how musicians can make their way in the professional marketplace.
  • How to be a Great Performer: Paramount in every aspiring young musician’s mind, this class would address stage presence, performance anxiety, concentration skills, effective preparation for competitions and performances and promotional skills.

Technical Requirements:

  • Space with adequate lighting
  • Microphone
  • 2 grand pianos tuned the day of the performance. 
  • Note: Because artists Steinway Artists, they can arrange to provide two pianos for the performance.
