Cold Creek is the premier Bluegrass band in Utah, offering
a performance that is both energetic and poignant. The award-winning
members of Cold Creek have performed with the top Bluegrass
bands in Utah, including former UPAT artist Gift Horse, and
have now formed one of the top bands in the region, performing
at Bluegrass festivals, community events, and private functions
throughout the West in 2006. Their current CD release, Faithfully,
has been earning excellent reviews. Audiences are inspired
by the vocals and amazed by the instrumentation Cold Creek
offers in every performance.
Their music affects an amazing range of listeners, from children
who enjoy the upbeat tempos and instruments to old-timers
who are reminded of the good old days. Their progressive form
of Bluegrass is also increasingly popular with young adults,
who equate their style with that of Alison Krauss & Union
Station, Nickel Creek, and Ricky Skaggs. But perhaps the greatest
aspect of Cold Creek's music is that it reflects the all-American
traditions and values from which Bluegrass was born. Their
performances are rousing reminders of days when joy and family
and fun were more common.
A Cold Creek performance typically includes 1 ½ to
2 hours of exceptional Bluegrass music. They perform both
original pieces and covers of traditional and progressive
Bluegrass favorites.
Outreach Options:
The members of Cold Creek are passionate about educating
people of all ages about the history and potential of Bluegrass
music. Outreach options range from a performance at a school
or community center to history and instrument education to
jamming with aspiring musicians from elementary schoolers
to old-timers. They particularly enjoy working with children
in K-12.
Technical Requirements:
Because Cold Creek is an acoustic Bluegrass group, they are
fairly flexibly in their technical requirements. They prefer
to work on a stage with sufficient power for a round mic and
instrument mics, but will adapt to the size of the audience
and venue.
