Each year we report to the State Legislature on the form, function and cost of local support for arts-related activities throughout the state. This information is then used by the Legislature in determining arts budgeting. It also assists us in the development of new programs, funding and training opportunities. The data provided by this survey conducted in January 2009 is one way of getting an up-to-date, clear and more comprehensive view of how local arts councils operate and add to their communities.
