Located at the Rio Grande Depot in Salt Lake City, The Artist Resource Center (ARC) is a FREE library and learning center where artists of all media can come to research funding and competitions, learn how to promote their work, gain visibility, as well as develop professionally and artistically.

The ARC is open by appointment only,
Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Our shelves are overflowing with magazines! Come snag the good ones while they're still here. We have ArtCalendar, The Crafts Report, ARTnews, Art in America, and more!

Many of these have great articles on marketing and selling your work. (Or you can simply cut them up and make a collage)


The Artist Resource Center

Our facilities offer:

  • Seminars and workshops for artists - These informational sessions are held approximately once a month at the ARC, and cover such topics as grant-writing, gallery representation, tax basics for artists, marketing crafts, and slide-making workshops. Tapes of prior seminars are available at the ARC and online. Seminars and workshops are FREE;
  • Current and back issues of our ArtOps newsletter - formerly Ovations, ArtOps is a quarterly newsletter highlighting local and national resources for artists, including funding sources, calls-for-entry, professional development opportunities, and online resources for further research. Visit ArtOps Online for additional resources and information;
  • Current arts periodicals;
  • Reference materials on art marketing, small business and legal issues, as well as funding;
  • A copy machine;
  • A dual-deck VCR and TV;
  • A PC with internet access and Microsoft Word; and
  • Friendly staff who can help you along the way!
