Applying to the Artist Roster

Any artist who can demonstrate artistic excellence and the ability to engage a student (child or adult) in the creative process is eligible for the AE Artist Roster. Applications are due every November 1 and are available on our website or you may call the AE office (801-236-7543) to request an application.

The AE panel places great importance on artists being current and productive in their chosen art form. Your portfolio and/or application should demonstrate that you are actively engaged in the practice of your art at the time of your application.

Artists accepted to the program must be able and willing to:

  • Share ideas and engage residency participants in the creative process.
  • Show commitment to the program.
  • Attend orientation and professional development meetings.
  • Submit final reports, evaluation, and documentation for each residency completed in a timely fashion.
  • Provide ideas for residencies and demonstrate ability to execute them.
  • Work well in an educational setting.
  • Design programs and workshops for students and teachers.
  • Develop community and leadership arts projects.
  • Plan a performance or exhibit that demonstrates the work of the students/ participants.
  • Plan a performance or exhibit of your work.
