(Dance)
Marilyn enjoys suggesting to students in residencies, "Dance is B.E.S.T!" She then guides them to discover and explore the dance elements of the Body in motion, using Energy, Space, and Time. She is a dance educator and performing artist who has taught all age and ability levels, pre-K through university, for the past 25 years, and continues to love learning herself.
Marilyn is a faculty member at Brigham Young University who recently took a year of leave to pursue elementary education certification and teach in the Jordan School District. After returning to her university position, Marilyn remained involved in the public schools by teaching "Side by Side" dance in-services with her professional elementary teaching colleagues. The kindergarten, third and fifth grade dance lesson plans and materials co-developed during those in-services are resources she brings to the schools in which she teaches residencies.
Available April through June and as daily University schedule permits; call for details. Requires a video playback system, overhead projector, colored butcher paper, and other school supplies.
Available for residencies, teacher training, extended projects, collaborations with other artists, and short-term activities.
