Pat Mendoza is an internationally acclaimed storyteller, author, singer, composer, humorist and musician. His work has been heard on National Public Radio, on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the British Broadcasting Corp. Pat has recorded two albums, nine audiocassettes and three CDs.

Pat is author of Song of Sorrow: Massacre at Sand Creek and Four Great Rivers to Cross, Extraordinary People in Extraordinary Times and Between Midnight and Morning. His folk opera, Song of the Plains, helped Pat to win the Colorado Visions (COVisions) grant for outstanding accomplishments among Colorado artists. His knowledge of the Cheyenne and Lakota history, language, beliefs and music comes firsthand as he has lived and worked with these two tribes for approximately 15 years. His musical storytelling production, Both Sides Now: The War at Home and the War in Vietnam, received standing ovations at The Arvada Center for the Performing Arts and was awarded the prestigious Valley Forge Freedoms Foundation Award.

Requires general-audience sound equipment.

Available for residencies, teacher training, extended projects, collaborations with other artists, and short-term activities.
