(Dance)

Roz Newmark has taught, choreographed, and performed throughout the United States since 1983. She is a member of the Artist in Education Programs in Kansas, Utah and Wyoming and has served as a guest teacher at both Kansas University and Kansas State University. Roz was a faculty member at Virginia Tanner Children's Dance Theatre for seven years. She has been teaching dance through the University of Utah for the past six years and photography at the Salt Lake Art Center for three years. In her own work, most recently, she has been combining acapella singing with movement and storytelling, performing for audiences of all ages. Roz holds an MFA in dance from the University of Utah and a BFA in both photography and dance.

When working with younger ages in a residency, the elements of dance can be used to create a bridge to, and a blending with, the curriculum. Roz assists and supports holistic learning in working with all ages, by combining various mediums such as dance, visual art, literature, etc. A residency can include creative movement, improvisation, teacher workshops, master classes, school performances and choreography for production. Roz enjoys teaching all ages and collaboration with other artists during the residency.

Available within 100 miles of Salt Lake in fall and spring; more flexible during other seasons.

Available for residencies, teacher training, extended projects, collaborations with other artists, and short-term activities.
