Arts Education Professional Development Opportunities
A listing of professional development opportunities for teachers, artists, students and the general public.

The Change Leader Program
The Change Leader Institute is a five-day leadership program that focuses on tools and skills necessary to lead change. The goals of the program are two-fold: to increase the adaptive capacity of arts administrators and community leaders, and to create a mentoring network within the Utah arts community. Certified Change Leaders continute to meet, network and share resources. Applications are now being accepted for the next Change Leader Institute will be held October 13-17, 2008 at the Homestead in Midway. Grant Writing
In partnership with the Salt Lake Community College Community Writing Center, we offer a 5 session grant writing program designed to walk participants through writing a grant from beginning to end. Contact: Anna Boulton, (801) 236-7546.

Public Art
Staff available for general presentations on the Public Art Collection or for technical assistance on Public Art process and commissioning. Contact Jim Glenn, (801) 533-3585

Seminars for Visual Artists
The Utah Arts Council's Artist Resource Center hosts seminars to assist visual artists with their creative and professional development. Contact: Laura Durham, (801) 533-3582.

Training for the Nonprofit Cultural Community
In collaboration with the Utah Nonprofits Association, the Community Partnerships Program regularly offers scholarships to professional development training on topics including human and fiscal resource development, board design, and leadership development, marketing, presenting, fundraising, strategic planning, teamwork, community collaboration, and other nonprofit issues. Workshops for Writers
The Utah Arts Council's Literature staff brings writers together with agents and publishers, develops networks among writers and helps writers arrange reading engagements and other writing related work. Contact: Guy Lebeda, (801) 236-7553.
