Each year, we award two $10,000 fellowships to individual visual artists to acknowledge their artistic excellence and encourage their careers. Artists practicing in a variety of media – such as painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, craft, and new genres – are eligible. Fellowship awards do not require matching funds.
Applying artists must demonstrate professionalism in their practice through quality images and documentation. Artists must be Utah residents not enrolled in a degree- or certificate-granting program. Application is open through January 31. Here are some helpful tips:

| Submit high-quality/high-resolution images Double-check image specifications and requirements in the application. | Work samples are the most important part of the application. Photos can include installation images, artwork details, etc. |
| Include a strong artist statement This is not a biography or explanation of a single body of work. An artist’s statement should be a supplemental guide to enhance and give context to the chosen artworks. | Attach an updated CV Double-check to make sure everything is current and include any upcoming projects, exhibitions, etc. | This is the applicant’s chance to show their commitment to Utah’s artistic community and professional activity in the field of visual arts. |
Submit early Submitting before the deadline allows applicants time to ask questions, troubleshoot technical difficulties, etc. | Late or incomplete applications are not accepted for any reason. |
