Sailosi Tuaimei’uta

In Utah, Sailosi Tuaimei’uta is recognized as a preeminent carver of wood and bone in traditional Polynesian styles. His pieces are meticulously carved by hand and crafted with materials directly from the islands, including native woods, fossilized whale bones, and cow femur bones. Sailosi was born in Tonga and has studied widely with other Master Carvers throughout the Pacific Islands to perfect his craft and spread the knowledge of these ancient techniques. He works closely with his wife, Iuni Tuaimei’uta, to run a business that showcases his artwork and provides a space for the community to learn about and celebrate various Polynesian cultures and traditions.
